Battery duration?

Post by ObsidianRadio »

Hey all,

Just a small query in regards to the average car battery..

I'm going to a drive in cinema next week, and as opposed to listening to the sh*tty speakers you mount on your window, I have the option of using my own sound system by tuning into a frequency with the tuner... My only concern is that I don't know if the duration of the film will drain my battery or not! Starting my car through the course of the movie is a really bad idea and I don't want to piss anyone off, so I'm just wondering if my battery can actually last ~2hrs with my 2000W sound system on average volume... Will it be advised that I bring a spare battery?

Cheers
Jack

Can't hurt to bring a spare battery.

Why not just plug in the spare to begin with?

Everyone will be listening through their car radios, they normally don't have speakers that clip to your windows anymore.

The cinema should have a jump start pack too, they are used to dealing with flat batteries.
We took the Vectra to a double screening...Wreck it Ralph + The Hobbit...They told everyone to run their engines inbetween the 2 movies.

Have fun :D

Edit: The Vectra made it through the night OK, but it doesn't have any amps. I thought the system in the FTO would suck the battery dry to quick, hence taking the Vectra.

Also depends on the battery you have. Heavy duty will last longer.
