Group Buy: Headlight Globes
Was going to order some headlight globes for both the cars and the bike then it struck me....why not get another Group Buy running
I will be contacting two business by end of today/tomorrow and get the details and quotes (also whether they are happy for a group buy price). I was first looking at sourcing either the Philips X-treme Vision 100, but Philips seems to have stopped producing the HB3 variant for it. They only have H1, H4 and H7.
http://www.lighting.philips.com.au/v2/a ... =1088066#0
So my next option is the Osram Nightbreaker Plus. Quite similar to the Philips X-treme Vision. Price is looking at around $57 for a pair landed without any sort of discount put in.
They both are brilliant bulbs and give really good vision in the rain. Personally tested and can vouch for the Philips X-treme Vision myself
Would any of you guys be interested?
Note: I might be able to source other type of globes as well.... put in a request below for which bulbs you are after and I will check on the availability.
----------------------
UPDATE
I am confirming some terms and conditions with the seller. They are happy to give us a 30% discount if we have 10+ pair orders. There is no shipping cost. Based on the 30% discount, a set of HB3 (high beam) pair and HB4 (low beam) pair should cost us a total of $79.62 approximately. HB3 (high beam) alone should cost us $39.81 approximately.
The above prices are for Osram Nightbreaker Plus which has the same ratings as a Philips X-treme Vision. These are high-performance globes for best vision. They do not give you the genY blue look. If you want to look cool while not being able to see anything in the rain, let me know and I will try to get you a price for Philips BlueVision
A pair of similar bulbs retail for $70-$80 here.
More Info:
-Each member will have 12 months warranty for the bulbs.
-Each member will get a free pair of Osram standard W5W parking bulb.
1. Sahin HB3 & HB4 = total 2 pairs
2. Sidds HB3 & 2X H4 = total 3 pairs

If I need to ship the bulbs to you, it adds the local shipping cost from Gold Coast 4215 to your place. If you can wait till the Bonfire, you can collect them from me there or on my way to Dwayne's place for no shipping cost as well.

Don't think putting HID's for high beam is a good ideasilverGPX wrote:Better off with a HID group buy, halogens look sh*t.
I am mainly looking at high beam globes...and assuming most of us here have HID low beams.

Some 55W 4300K HID will rape those globes for half the price.shadowarrior wrote:Don't think putting HID's for high beam is a good ideasilverGPX wrote:Better off with a HID group buy, halogens look sh*t.

Re: Group Buy EOI: Headlight Globes
@matt; not keen on trying to debate if 'HID's are better or globes' in this thread, whatever rocks your boat But if you have enough statistics and data to back up your claims, feel free to read http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech ... sions.html and contact him. I have seen his posts and interacted with him numerous times, and I can assure you, he is the Wiki of automotive lighting.
Back to the topic of Group Buy EOI for the globes thanks.
@Daniel; can you check if you have one globe which has both the high beam and low beam filaments inside it or two different globes for high beam and low beam.
If they are two different globes, the high beam would be HB3 9005, low beam would be HB4 9006 and if it's one globe for both high and low beam then you have a H4 472. Fogs would be H3 453

Standard bulbs are HB4 and HB3. FTO's didn't come with a dual filament bulb.
And just for reference factory HID bulb is D2S.

Re: Group Buy EOI: Headlight Globes
Oh, thanks Vectose. Any approx idea how much the D2S bulbs (Philips or Osram) cost here so I can have a price to compare with? The new Osram Xenarc Silverstar D2S are around $200 each landed from them (excluding any discounts), while they have the cheaper Osram and Philips as well.Vectose wrote:Standard bulbs are HB4 and HB3. Are all pre-facelift setups the same?shadowarrior wrote:@Daniel; can you check if you have one globe which has both the high beam and low beam filaments inside it or two different globes for high beam and low beam.

So what is the draw of watts for these globes? Is it the same or more than the standard bulbs?
