Exhaust too loud :(

Post by phunkydude »

So i got out tonight, started up my car and let it warm up.
Problem is, it's parked at tenant's parking which is the backside of neighbour's house.
Saw a guy came out at the backyard and staring at me with the both hands on waist. Knew it has something to do with my exhaust too loud, so i just quickly drove off.

Then when i got back, parked at the same spot. Idling a while to let my turbos cool down. Totally forgot about my exhaust sound and what time it is. :bom:
Just when i got out of my car, the guy is standing across the fence and got scolded, "he's trying to sleep.. bla.. bla..blaa.., ask me to park somewhere else.. bla bla..bla"

Didn't know idling can be that loud.
I don't like the cannon and plan to swap it out with proper muffler only when i get the whole exhaust system done together down the road, which is not now or anytime soon but... i don't wish to annoy anyone.

Will you guys swap your exhaust just because your neighbour complains about it?

It's 2.5" but not sure about cat-back and rear-section.
I think the cannon is 3" in 4" out.

Personally, i'd tell them to get fucked & deal with it,unless I liked them.

But in your case. I dunno, id probably do it. Worst case scenario is they report you to the EPA (which they wont, they probably would report you to the cops).

Legal? There is no aftermarket FTO exhaust that's legal.

Reason why I know this? I got pinged by the RTA and with my system returned back to stock, using FTO parts, I tested 89 DB (limit is 90 DB).

If he dobs ya in you will test over.
