Hey everyone,
I'm Matt, I live in the SE Burbs near Dandenong.
I own a JZZ31 Soarer and I recently brought a 1997 GPX Manual FTO.
At the moment it's a shell, but plans are big!
Here's a pick of it getting moved onto my back decking.....
Take it easy

Thanks for the warm welcome 8)
I have a couple idea's, one being 4G63T+AWD if I can find good info,
Is there any real solid conversion info out there?
I've been searching the web for days now and it seems most real AWD
conversions are done in Europe and I'm finding it hard to get info on the floorpan.
Does EVO rear cradle, tail shaft etc fit or will I have to cut the floor?

If I have to cut the floor I'm really tempted to go 13BT+RWD for sh!ts and giggles. :alien:

Anyway it's a long term project as I have a few other things on the go at the mo.
But will def keep you guys updated with pics and the like.
Thanks for the warm welcome again!! :clown:
Chow for now.... :D

This thing sounds amazing.
As a point of call, when I took my Fto to meek automotive in western Sydney they seemed to know a bit about Fto awd conversion.
Might be worth giving them a call and having a chat?

This is probably the best source of information:
http://www.evocoupe.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5250

There's not much in it, but the guy actually did it and will provide you with some clues to get started. Apparently he got sick of people asking him questions about it all the time so probably won't respond but it will give you a start.

If you've paid your 10 quid, there's a whole thread on one that used a legnum drivetrain: http://www.ftooc.org/forum/showthread.p ... -Turbo-AWD

Eltnot: I've read that thread on EVOCOUPE before, he doesn't give too much away except saying the rear was "Modified" for the diff.

I havn't paid my $10 Bennoz but I'm thinking about it to get this info i need.

I'm not even going to start until I know exactly whats going on.
Thanks for all the help guys.
I'm waiting for Meek to get in contact with me also.

I dont reckon you'll ever get all the information you need. Especially considering you'll be 'hand making' half a car, there are no off the shelf parts for sheet steel & a welder.

If you got the coin to start, just get into it. You'll figure it out as you go.

Is FTOOC any good?
ie, worth the joining fee? Or are we better here? :)

Eh, same same. There is some really good info there, but like here, you've gotta dig through all the bullshit to find it

How many active members are there over there?
And is there any info about NA power gains?

Yeah I'm guessing this is mainly a job for grinders, welders and sheet metal. He does at least point out the major components that he uses.

I found another website!
This guy claims that Mitsubishi Mirage has nearly the same floor pan as Lancer and FTO.
He converted his Mirage to EVO AWD running gear!!!!!
There's only 3 parts needed really:
1x Diff mount
2x Propshaft mounts.....And some of the boot floor.....
Sounds simple enough...
I also got in contact with Meek VIA E-mail and I'm waiting for a call back for one of thier mechanics to discus the conversion in more detail.
Looks like a goer!!!
