Awesome, a running commentary for us
Yeah Wakefield is pretty cold of a morning. How was the fog on the way down?

The fog lifted at about 10:00. The first run started at 10:20.
There is two street classes now A & B
My first run the ass was all over the place so dropped the psi down, see how it go's next run.

Re: Track day 20th May. This is a go!
Any time mate.
It was a great day out today, there was some fast cars out there.
I have to get myself a lap timer befor the next track day. Some of my laps felt F#**ing fast
I will check out the footage and try to get some up over the weekend for you all.
I wish I got to see more of Ben's car on the track, every time I went to have a look all the cars where coming back in
oh and yes I was running f**king loud

Re: Track day 20th May. This is a go!
I had a ball
The day for me was all about self discovery. The car hadn't been on the track for over 2 years & I wanted to test a few things before getting back into more serious track work.
I was only just able to match my last times (of around 1:17-1:18) purely due to wheelspin My tyres were fucked (and have been since the last day I did at Oran Park in 08.)
They were cooked & hard. I couldn't even put the foot down on the straight in 2nd or 3rd without cavaleering around & trying to avoid he wall Having said that, once I did get some
traction, I was consistently overtaking Rexes with a graceful ease (whoooooo-pish! Goodbye! *Waves*) But on the corners, like the sweep out of the inner hairpin, all I could
do is pretty much drift under wheelspin to keep me pointing in the right direction, then hope like hell when I backed off, it wouldn't snap back on me & spin me round!
The suspension settings I used for the old setup were all wrong. With the extra weight of the 6A13 up front, 1.5 degree of neg camber just isn't enough, plus fiddling with the damper
settings on the shocks, I found I had to loosen them up significantly compared to what I used to run, to stop it scuttling across the tops of bumps. I also have a number
of shot bushes in the rear, that stopped the wheel aligner being able to straighten it out. As a result I was running with almost a degree & a half of toe out on the rear....
Hence the ass of the car wanting to beat me round the tight corners.
My brake pads were also fucked (cooked) as was the fluid (forgot to change it ) as both items were ex 08 track used. So my stopping distances were horrific... 330mm rotors
and I still had to brake well before the 100m sign on the back straight
And my last issue was overheating. I could only get 5 laps in at full pace before the temp gauge began to skyrocket. I need a seriously bigger radiator & an oil cooler. So couple that, with
the amount of cars there on the day, I only got about 15 - 20 laps in & my old man about 5.
Aside from that, oh and my 'oil catch can' *cough* coke can *cough* overflowing & splattering oil all over the engine, it was a successful day out. I have to completely forget all
my race lines & techniques that I once new, its a totally new car with a sh*t load more power. My peak rpm range is now lower, with full boost on at 3100rpm, and coming off at
6250rpm. As opposed to the old motor which went to 8 grand, it was a bit of issue breaking old habits, kept over revving it for no reason. With all the extra speed I was able to carry,
my braking points have now changed significantly. On the main straight, I was red lining 4th at well over 200kph I used to struggle to make 160 there for the example....
The tune was good thou & I had no mechanical problems with the 6A13 after a good flogging. She behaved quite polietly on the way home & will be driven to work today
I've got plenty to do before the next outing thou! Gonna leave the car with a suspension specialist up in Horsnby next week to change out bushes & get the setup right for its current incarnation.
Looks like we may have to change the spring rate & damper range up front to deal with the extra weight, but I'll wait & see what they say.

My arms are very sore today, put it that way
The new steering rack was good though, when it was rebuilt last week, I got them to put in larger restrictors from the fluid lines to stiffen it up.
So it eliminated a little bit of the torque steer, but it aint enough. Also got a H brace coming next week which should help some of the torque steer
& chassis flex.

Re: Track day 20th May. This is a go!
Yep it did, I dropped the back down to 32-34 hot and the fronts down to 38 hot.
Cold back was 28 and front 29.
When I get the footage up over the weekend you will see what changes it makes.
The first run I was all over the place, some times it felt like the back end was stearing the car.
Over all my 4th run was my best of the day. After two warm up laps I started to push the car, then about 4th lap I seen the Mazda RX8 at the other side of the track. At that time all that was in my head was " I'm going to chace that thing down "
so the foot went down harder and longer taking every bit of the track I could, some times even bouncing off rippel strips on two wheels
each lap I was getting closer, it came down to if I had two more laps he would of been behind me.
Wish I got that run on camera would have been great to see.
