Buying an Fto from brisbane

Post by Gholdwayne »

Hi guys,

Iv had an fto inspected at qld and already paid for the dealer but they need a 'garaging address' but the thing is i live in sydney...

what does that mean ? im still a newbie on this dealer protocols, i need help, help!!

I dont know if i know anyone here who knows anyone in brisbane, i know this sounds stupid but it seems like a buy and i thought i just couldnt miss it.

Give them your garaging address in Sydney. Youll have to swap the rego over when you get into Sydney, but that should get you by. Welcome to the club BTW.

    Hey dstocks,

Iv called the dealer, and they still believe they have to get a qld garaging address, but since i got what you said, where did you get that information from ? is there an official website that states that so i can show them maybe ? thanks, very much appreciated...

Do they say what they need it for?. Obviously, if youre not from QLD, you arent going to have a QLD address. Maybe its something to do with a warranty?

      ah nice! watsup J....

dstocks, they said they need it for the motor registry, Transport Queensland or something like that...

but i called up TQ and they said i can get an unregistered vehicle permit then drive it to sydney then register it and satisfy sydney conditions and the existing qld rego on it will be left with the dealer...

But the dealer also told me that it will be registered under their company still and use their company as the garaging address as im rego'ing the car in sydney anyways ...

now ill just need a billion forms of ID .. well not really, 5 but it seems like a lot... drivers licence, passport, birth cert, keycard, and whateverelse i can find...

Seems like a lot of ID...

Are you getting finace from them ... If so they are taking the new AML rules to seriously and are going for overkill on the ID ...
I just had to add it ......
