Just bought a FTO

Post by Mookiez »

Hey all,

I'm new to this forum, obviously. Why else would I be posting on the Newbies forum?

Heh well anyways, recently (this morning) just bought an FTO! My FIRST car, I'm sure insurance will kill me, but oh well. Couldn't resist you know?

I got it really really cheap... at least I think so, what do you all think? Here's the link.

Even though it's in NSW, driving it down to Melb (as I live here, only got my Dad to buy it, as he works in Sydney)

Ho there!

Looks very clean from the pics - and for that ammount too... that's more like NZ prices!

Not had too much done to her either, so a blank canvas for you to make her just how you want. Thought about if you're going to do anything to her?

How bad a nick was the timing belt in? Wouldn't have thought it'd be that bad for those miles...
I'd be tempted to get the full 100,000km service done now if the wallet will stretch (inc. new water pump) - just for the peace of mind!

Thanks all. Very friendly =]

Not too sure, the Mechanic said the timing belt should be replaced sometime soon. Replacing it today (in Sydney) for the long drive down to Melb. Just incase... hate for things to go wrong.

At the moment, will probably just get new seat covers (saw some nice ones around this forum that people have for around 400-500?) and a new sound system. Will also be getting new tires and rims. I'm excited.

Cool, some nice wheels and Max's leatherette seat covers will look sweet.

Welcome to the club and looks like you got a good deal. :D You'll need to get a box for the POD or risk a defect when it gets inspected for plate changeover to Vic.

WTTC.

Man - that IS cheap. Great job getting that price, but a bit concerning for anyone thinking of selling their dearly beloved in the near future (and I mean the car, btw).

Looks nice and clean. Good buy, especially if the ODO is accurate.

So you were the lucky guy who bought it! I was the person after that enquired about the car...and the owner told me that I had just missed out. :( Congrats on a good buy nonetheless!
