Re: Bennoz 6A13 Conversion
Back on the dyno as we speak! No big power figures yet, fixed the lack of fuel with the bigger injectors, but now we are lacking fuel pressure... Walbro pump aint strong enough
It used to make 175kws at 10 pound, now we got it making that on 7 pound

Re: Bennoz 6A13 Conversion
Got 191kws at 12 pound ( Which means it'll make mahoosive power at 18 pound) but then we blew the rear turbo...again
So, tomorrows task, get my turbo down to Precision for a rebuild, then get out to Rocket Industries to get a new (bigger again...) fuel pump.
The other issue we encountered is fuel temperature. With the fuel filter being so close to the rear turbo, it's cooking the fuel & when hot enough, its boiling
in the rails. We checked it today & it was bubbling & pulsing out. So, will be doing a fuel filter relocation tomorrow as well.

Re: Bennoz 6A13 Conversion
Any cause/reason why the rear turbo blown? What's the culprit?

Re: Bennoz 6A13 Conversion
Well, if you're a tightarse like me, rather than paying $600 to have a turbo rebuilt (which I now have to do) you buy second hand units for $100 a pop.
Only problem with second hand turbos, is that it's like a lucky dip. Some will last years, others will last... well, like this last one, about 6 hours
Haven't pulled this one off yet, but I reckon I've sheared the main shaft in it. It now sounds like an ambulance when I give it a rev. Got no boost at all.

Re: Bennoz 6A13 Conversion
The fueling solution
- Bosche 044 high pressure pump - 200L/h @ 5 bar (72psi)
- System 1, 30 micron, annodised alloy in line filter (with replaceable elements.) Will meet flow requirements up to 650hp ( )
- Assorted black annodised barb fittings
Told ya I wasn't gonna f**k around anymore!
