Qualifying sucked!
I was taking it easy the first couple of laps. The suspension isn't setup quite right yet and the car's a little tailey. Then I was being lapped by the GT40 & Lotus's! Then I finally thought I was going to get a run when I was passed by a Clubman which must have had an oil line failure, oil all over my windscreen and on the racing line for the whole lap! So again taking it cautious. Managed a 3:04 and position 40 of 48 cars.

Race 1 was much better. We only got 4 laps though, but we had a lot of racing in those 4 laps! Passed 4 cars plus a couple up the field dnf'd so finished 34th with a 2:59.5 lap time. 8)

Race 2 & 3 tomorrow.

Damn I'm missing the extra power the eMU would have given me though. Definitely feeling a little under powered going up Mountain Straight. Top speed so far on Conrod 214kph 8)

Well done Shane! Back of the pack is where all the action is at anyway! You'll learn a lot more there than being at the front for sure! Keep going.

Actually I'm not surprised about the suspension situation. If I'm reading your threads right then you set up the suspension at Wakefield which is a clock wise circuit. Bathurst is an anti-clockwise circuit. That would cause you issues right? Forgive me if I've read your posts in the wrong order though, it's quite possible :-)

Hi AJ, no we didn't get to set the suspension up as the brake caliper seals failed, so we pretty much arrived at Bathurst with a best guess scenario on the suspension. Turned out it's not too bad though, a little bit taily off throttle, but mostly OK. I may look at getting it professionally setup before the Eastern Creek 1 hour in May though.

Now back to Bathurst :)

Race 2. Finally got past the little blue MG then left him for dead on the final lap posting a 2:53.9! Pretty happy with that! Pretty confident now of getting into the 2:40's before the weekend is done. 8)

Race 3. Got a good start but had a few faster cars coming through that dnf'd in the previous race, so the first couple of laps were a bit ordinary. Finally got some clear track and started to find my rythm again, keen to push hard across the top but then the fuel pump failed coming out of Hells! It took us a few hours to figure this out though and with our final race tomorrow before 9am unfortunately that's our weekend done... :(

So the FTO's now loaded up on the trailer. We'll watch a few of the races tomorrow morning then head home around lunchtime. Another item to add to the spares list... :|

PS: And AJ, nah back of the field sucks mate! lol! Mid field is where it's at. 8)

Thanks Ben, but might be a bit big for email? And no pics of the FTO

AJ, next planned event is the 1 hour enduro at Eastern Creek at the end of May. Hope to have a bit more power on board by then (and a spare fuel pump lol!)

i was just in NSW over the weekend, and happened to be driving past you on the .... i dont know what road it was, but you had the fto on a trailer hitched to a wagon. as i passed you, you were looking back at the fto, keeping an eye on it or something. Was so happy to see a unfamiliar FTO, and especially a race one :D
