venom 400 performance chip

i have been wondering if anyone has used the venom 400 performance chip and how good is it .
i have read that it is good as u can switch on and off the module whenever wanted .
i hope someone can throw some light about the venom 400

I've never heard of it - but that doesn't mean it isn't any good.
The ones I hear most about are unichip, powerchip, (another one I can't remember similar to powerchip).
Then there is the full engine management comuters such at Motec, Autronic, Microtech, Greddy emanage etc.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i was told you won't get full potential from the chip if you have not carried out other mods such as exhaust, filter, headers and porting/cam work....??

Well you can only burn fuel if there is enough air to mix it with.
So if you increase your fuel delivery you also need to increase the breathing of the engine. So I would think that air filter and exhaust would have to be done first.

However, cars are not usually tuned to their full potential (usualy because of emission requirements and/or fuel economy), so sometimes simply adding something like a powerchip to a stock car can deliver some benefits.
