EOI - NSW event Mac Pass - Kangaroo Valley- Kiama
Thinking of bringing an event towards the south coast
Since nobody went through this way on the bonfire cruise I thought it would be a good idea to run it as it's own cruise.
So this run basically consists of 3 mountains
Macquarie Pass (uphill cosists of lots of tight S bends and a few hairpins)
Barrengarry Mountain (downhill mountain hairpins)
And either Berry Mountain Pass OR Cambewarra Mountain to Nowra
I've come up with 2 options upon leaving Kangaroo Valley
1 - Via Bomaderry (Nowra) basically straight over Cambewarra mountain then to the roundabout
(This route can end up with a fair amount of slow tourist traffic, unless you can time it right then it's a good run)
https://goo.gl/maps/TtFGI
2 - Via the Kangaroo Valley to Berry backroad
Basically deserted though an awfully tight with a few good turns to offer and at times a fairly rough road. Just watch out for oncoming SUV's as they don't know how to share the road...

Details
Date: TBA roughly September sometime preferably a Sunday (less cops)
Meeting point: Hungry Jacks Haywards Bay (Albion Park) Princes Highway
Meet time: 11:00
Depart:12:00
Probably will stopover outside the Robertson Pie Shop for lunch which is directly on the route so no turnoffs for it
Should hit Nowra/Berry depending which way by 2/2:30ish and get to kiama blowhole carpark at 3
What to Bring
Full tank of fuel (there is a servo next to Hungry Jacks (it is a Shell though for all you die hard caltex fans....)
2 Way radio
Cash as the Pie shop has $10 minimum eftpos
Camera/Photographer if you know one would be a good opportunity for highway shots on the way back to Albion Park

I am a maybe on this ... If I still only have the Swift, well there is no point.. I may attend on the bike, or hopefully in the Evo/GSR ... But will have to play it by ear closer to the date...
I just had to add it ......

Re: EOI - NSW event Mac Pass - Kangaroo Valley- Kiama
Bump recent rainfall is ruining the roads in the southern part of the run, but thinking of changing the route to go through Jamberoo Mountain and avoid the major pothole i went through the other day . Hoping to suss out the new alternate roads tomorrow.
Date is definitely locked in for Sunday September 28
If you know anyone who's good with a camera bring them more photos the better
The more the better

Re: EOI - NSW event Mac Pass - Kangaroo Valley- Kiama
Route has been decided, sticking with the main "smooth" way back from kangaroo valley. The other road just seemed to be too dangerous with oncoming idiots. Proven as I was forced off road by a hilux who had 3m of road to the left of him.
Layout is pretty simple
Start Hungry Jacks
Macquarie Pass
Stop 1 Robertson Pie Shop (park opposite the pie shop)
Barrengarry Mt, Kangaroo Valley, Cambewarra Mountain
Stop 2 Kiama Lighthouse/Harbour
(Take the first exit into kiama after the bends then left at the roundabout further down, the rest is straight forward after that)
Back road through Jamberoo back to possibly Hungry jacks or somewhere else if I can think of something better

Weather is looking all sweet for Sunday, no chance of rain , could be a fun time trying to get parking in Kiama though with the car show also being on this weekend :/ but should be good run. Those leaving Sydney could either organise a cruise down to Albion park, those heading north leaving from or going through nowra, I'm leaving with a few cars from KFC Bomaderry around 10PM. Definitely need a yes and no list going to confirm numbers though haha

Yay 11am-ish to cover people traveling from north and south to leave by 12, don't forget cash haha, pie shop at Robertson doesn't to EFT for under $10
