Re: Daniel's Rookie DIY FTO Build!
Put in new thermostat today.
Also replaced o2 sensor. Retailed at $270 odd, got it for $94 at repco staff prices
c**t of a job, old one was on there pretty good. Used my mahoosive metal bar over a spanner to get it.. Took about one full rotation before it finally broke loose.
Hopefully no moar running rich

NTK brand (which is part of NGK) off a Galant.
I have a friend that works there that gives me staff discounts (good bloke actually) so I will ask him.
Will let you know
Part number @ Repco = 0Z8816-mate

Re: Daniel's Rookie DIY FTO Build!
So not the proper Bosch.
Might as well just go for the $55 one from cyberspace.

Re: Daniel's Rookie DIY FTO Build!
Well no, not a Bosch. But NGK, still reputable and decent quality..
Would rather that than a "Bosch" from ebay.

Re: Daniel's Rookie DIY FTO Build!
It most likely isn't the correct one though.

Fits plug, no soldering required. Fits into exhaust perfect.
No dramas here. DIY guide said sourcing from Galant is fine, thats what I did.
No engine light. Seems OK to me.
And if you want the "correct" one, go spend $700 for one off Mitsi Australia
NOPE!

Re: Daniel's Rookie DIY FTO Build!
O2 sensor seems to be ok. Fuel economy also seems to be better. How much I don't know but we will find out.
Baby also got a new stepper motor and TPS adjustment so now holds idle consistently at around 850rpm. Running much better!
Little darling got a new coolant temp sensor too. Amayamaymnayamaamaymaymaymaymayamyamaymaymaymaymaymyamyammmmmmmmyayayayamyayayayayapayaya wanted like 40 bucks for it. Repco was charging about $36. Got it for staff price @ about $8.50
Just installed it then. Old one was real crappy. Interestingly enough, old one was 12mm, new one was 13mm. Same thread and everything, just different size nut on the end of it.
Life is so much better when the car actually runs well
