gearbox stuck

Post by davidblacker »

Hi all. I've just completed an engine rebuild on my FTO (year 2000 GR), and now the there seems to be a problem with the gearbox (auto). When I start up the engine and put the box in Drive, the neutral light keeps blinking on the dash. When I move the stick over to tiptronic manual, the box is stuck in 3rd. I can't shift up or down. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what was the solution?

Thanks.

search 'Limp mode'

youve likely missed a plug on the gearbox or damaged one

Sorry, but what do you mean "search 'limp mode'"? And what sort of a plug are we talking here?

did you find anything useful? have you checked over all your engine bay wiring and plugs? any blown fuses?

yes, i think i know what the prob is, but i need to get it diagnosed first before taking the box apart. but the diagnosis port isn't working so that needs to be sorted first..
