If youre feeling really creative you could put one in the middle of the back seat on the horizontal cushion and one on the vertical back

The point is that its possible. The seat back would only be slightly thicker than the base in the centre because its slightly raised, and as I said, with a bit of creativity it could be done.

You do know that there's a big hole behind the rear seat that leads into the boot right? So most of the sub would stick out into the boot.

Thats where the partition comes into play. If a sub box was made to fit between the two seats and sit up higher above the cushion, it could house the sub. So there would be 1/3 to 1/2 of the sub/box mounted into the cushion and the other 2/3 to 1/2 sticking out.
