My mate bought semi-slicks racing tyres and magz and wasnt using these anymore so he gave me a fantastic deal of $350 to which i couldnt say no!! 17's with fat rubber. Amazing grip i must say!! Next iam going to lower it when i get my suspension upgraded.

Not my taste, but each to their own. Great value though.

Way to bling for my liking but the tyres alone look like they might have been worth the money.

They are dunlops. And I didn't say they were semislicks. I said my mate wanted to get semi slicks. And yes they will rub, but iam getting 20mm spacers when I lower it. They came of a supra.

Plus iam not too concerned at all!! Got them very cheap so even when I sell them a year or two down the track I'll still make my money back! They don't rub at full lock nor do they rub on speed bumps and kerbs. So I'll only need spacers when I drop it!

seriously instead of spacers invest the money in some good quality rubber those dunlop sava are the cheapest and nastiest of there range you will notice it in the wet ;)
also go for the right size as i already said your speedo will be all up the f**k

you may be able to even trade them in??

Would it be changing the speedo much?
To my understanding, increasing to 17" wheels adds roughly 25mm to the diameter, and then he's decreased his tyre thickness by ten, thereby reducing the diameter by 20mm which is a gain of roughly 5mm diameter, which is still within the acceptable guidelines -25mm/+15mm.

Am I correct?

not really the tyre is 235 and the profile is 45 which is 45% of the aspect ratio of the width of the tyre NOT 45 MILLEMETRES as some people think.

so with a 215/40 tyre the profile is 40% of the width which is only 215
so he has a tyre which is to wide already and then the profile (sidewall) is far to large so total diametre is actually much more hence f**king up speedo

if you check out tyre calculators the 215/40x17 is almost perfect in comparison to the stock 15 or 16 inch tyre size

should get some decent rubbers as they're the contact between the car and road!

Yea $300 for the set is really cheap. i would resell it for some profit!

woah dude, sorry but they look horrible..

these are the sort of rims id expect to see on a tacky mirage or civic circa 2001 *vomit*

IMO ftos look sh*t with any sort of 'bling' type rim, racing rims ftw.

I didn't even notice them .. they look awesome.. would be cool if someone could make some to slot in there ... like the aluminium dial rings fit in the speedo cluster..
