Cheers fro that. Would pedders be able to identify all the bushes that need replacing? Reading this thread, it looks like there are loads. And what material do I get them in? With the strut tops, do I go for Tien adjustables? Should I replace shocks too? And droplinks, do I get the kit that Bennos got in this thread too? Would they work on my almost stock set up? Then there's sway bars...

Ben, what's that thing I've seen you change on Kaz's white FTO? The part that runs between the 2 front wheels with boots on either ends?

Hey mate, my recommendation for a hot street setup would be the following:

Shocks - 4 x KYB Gas
Part numbers; Front L: 334154 Front R: 334155 Rears: 341140
Approx $440

Ok, front bushes are as follows, I would replace all 3 types with the below listed Superflex polyurethane type:

SPF1160 Front Control Arm - Inner Front Bushing

Very common for it to go - stock unit is a one peice rubber unit with steel sleeve. Is replaced by 2 of the part numbers mentioned above with new sleeve.

SPF1500 Front Control Arm Lower - Rear Bushing

If front control arm bushes are done - this one must be done using the same density material. Available in both stock size & positive castor type. The superflex type only give 0.5 degrees positive castor. Where as the Whiteline ones give 1.0 degrees. Part number KCA317A

Note - you will have to get these done at a workshop as the factory rubbers are press fit & you need a 10 tonne press to get them off, so factor in some labour cost.

SPF1344 Front Sway Bar Mount To Chassis Bushing (16mm)

Your crunchy noise is your front droplinks. Best (& cheapest) way to get them is through Camskill in the UK:

The part your reffering to on Kaz's car was a strut brace. I'd recommend getting one of them too. You can get them off eBay.

Tein top mounts you will be able to get from Fulcrum (listed above)

From memory you've already got lowered springs, so it will be just a matter of pulling your old struts out, pulling the springs off them & then re-assembling on the new shock & with the Tein top mounts on the front.

Funny, the guy at my local Burson's said he'd do the same thing with the Supercheap prices I already had

Edit: Hey Ben, no it's not a strut brace that I'm on about. It was under the front of the car and was about a 6 c**t job on the first DIY day and you replaced the same part at dstocks on the purple FTO too.

you will get a click/clunking sound when you turne it will get faster as you go faster.

Depends if you want to replace all the bushes, or just the worn ones as to what parts to replace.

I replaced all except a couple.. I have some spare bushes left over if you want them for cheap.. Ill get part numbers when I get home..

Burson's is like Supercheap / Autobarn, but they have better prices & will beat competitor's pricing.

They should be able to source the struts as well, but RPW has a pretty good price on them. or try contacting a suspension wholesaler..

Yeah, it's ok to buy the no name brand ones .. they are worse quality though & susceptible to bending .. mostly at the bracket, but they still do the job for the most part

If you want quality over price, then go for whiteline or Cusco brand .. I've tried the ebay ones vs whiteline & now vs cusco & the ebay no-name ones do give a noticeable improvement, but the other give a bit more noticeable improvement again
